Registering Online to Vote - Eligibility

You can access the OVR Eligibility page to verify your voting eligibility and provide identification information. If you need assistance, contact your County Voter Registration Office.

To verify voting eligibility:

You must have performed the steps for Registering Online to Vote - Introduction to access the OVR Eligibility page.

Answer each of the eligibility questions on the OVR Eligibility page.

You don't have a valid Indiana State Driver's License or ID Card...

Click the click here for a printable voter registration form link.

A blank voter registration form is displayed.

Follow the instructions on the form for completing and submitting the form.

You have a valid Indiana State Driver's License or ID Card...

Type your Indiana State Driver's License or State ID number in the enter your driver's license or state id number field.

Type the characters displayed in the image code in the verification field and click the continue button.

Tip: Click the Regenerate icon to generate a new image code. Click the Speaker icon to have the image code read to you. Click the Text icon to view the image code.

If...	Then...
You answered yes to the citizenship, age, and precinct questions, answered no to the felon question, entered the correct image code, and entered a valid Indiana State Driver's License or State ID number...	You meet the eligibility requirements. The OVR Information page is displayed.
You did not answer all the eligibility questions...	A message is displayed indicating all eligibility questions must be answered.
You answered no to the citizenship, age, and precinct questions or answered yes to the felon question...	A message is displayed indicating you are not eligible to vote.
The verification code you entered does not match the image code...	A message is displayed indicating the codes must match and a new image code is displayed. Enter the code exactly as it appears and click the continue button.
You did not enter a valid Indiana State Driver's License or State ID number...	A message is displayed indicating you must enter a valid Indiana State Driver's License or State ID number. If you don't have one, click the click here for a printable voter registration form link and print a voter registration form.
The Indiana State Driver's License or State ID number you provided cannot be verified due to a system error...	A message is displayed indicating the system is currently unable to validate the Driver's License or State ID number. Attempt to register online at a later time or click the click here for a printable voter registration form link and print a voter registration form.

Tip: To close the OVR Eligibility page without completing the registration process, click the cancel button. A confirmation message is displayed. Click the yes button.

In the table below are definitions for the fields and buttons on the OVR Eligibility page.

Term	Definition
Are you a citizen of the United States? radio button	Indicates if you meet the citizenship requirement for voting. Choose yes if you are a citizen of the United States. Choose no if you are not a citizen of the United States. You cannot register to vote.
Are you currently in prison after being convicted of a crime? radio button	Indicates if you meet the non-felon requirement for voting. Choose yes if you are currently in prison after being convicted of a crime. You cannot register to vote. Choose no if you are not currently serving time in prison.
Cancel button	Cancels the online registration process, closes the OVR Eligibility page, and displays the IndianaVoters Home page.
Click here for a printable voter registration form link	Displays a Voter Registration form on your screen, which you can then print.
Continue button	Closes the OVR Eligibility page and displays the OVR Voter Information page.
Enter your Driver's License or State ID Number	Your Indiana State Driver's License number. If you don't have a driver's license, your State ID number.
Have you lived in your precinct for at least 30 days before the next general or municipal general election? radio button	Indicates if you meet the precinct requirement for voting. Choose yes if you have lived in your precinct for at least 30 days prior to the next general or municipal general election. Choose no if you have not lived in your precinct for at least 30 days prior to the next general or municipal general election. You cannot register to vote.
Will you be at least 18 years of age on or before the next general or municipal general election? radio button	Indicates if you meet the age requirement for voting. Choose yes if you will be at least 18 years of age on or before the next general or municipal general election. Choose no if you won't be at least 18 years of age on or before the next general or municipal general election. You cannot register to vote.
